About the blog

The tools on this site give you an answer. These articles explain the answer — what the number actually means, how it is worked out, and where it stops being useful. Most were written because a calculator alone was not enough: knowing your BMI is not the same as knowing what BMI does and does not measure, and seeing a monthly payment is not the same as seeing how much of it is interest.

Every guide is built around a tool you can use on the spot, works the maths through with a real example, and links to the sources it relies on so you can check them yourself. Where a figure is an estimate, or depends on your country, your lender or your doctor, the article says so rather than pretending otherwise. Nothing here is financial or medical advice — it is the explanation that should come with the number.
