Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters, and this page explains in plain language exactly what Utilorax does and does not do with information. We have tried to be specific rather than vague: where something is sent to our server, we say so.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not want your personal data. Almost every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser, so what you type never leaves your device. A small number of tools genuinely need the server to do their job, and those are listed below. We do not sell or share your information with anyone.

What runs on your device only

All calculators, all unit converters, the text and developer tools, the colour and CSS tools, the QR and barcode generators, the timers, the testing tools and the invoice generator run locally in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers, text and settings you enter are never transmitted to us and never stored on our servers.

The webcam test, microphone test and QR scanner ask your browser for camera or microphone access. That video and audio is used only to draw the preview on your screen. It is never recorded, never uploaded and never leaves your device — you can confirm this by disconnecting from the internet and watching them still work.

What is sent to our server, and why

Being honest about the exceptions:

  • Document tools (PDF, Word, spreadsheet and image tools) cannot run in a browser, so the file you choose is uploaded to our server, converted, sent back to you, and then deleted immediately. Files are stored under random names in a folder that is not reachable from the web, and anything left by an interrupted download is swept away automatically within 30 minutes. We never open, read, keep or back up your documents.
  • Password hash tools (bcrypt, Argon2, RIPEMD, PHP password_hash and similar) use algorithms browsers cannot perform, so the text you enter is sent to our server, hashed, returned, and discarded. It is never written to disk or logged. Even so, please do not paste a password you actually use into any online tool — including this one.
  • Live rate tools (currency, crypto, gold and silver) ask our server to fetch the current published rates from third-party price feeds. We send those services no information about you — only a request for the rates.
  • The "what is my IP" tool shows you your own public IP address and browser details, which your device sends with every web request. We display it back to you and do not store it.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs — the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser user agent. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or errors. They are not linked to any identity and are not used for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

We may use analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand which tools are popular so we know what to improve. This uses cookies to count visits in aggregate and to tell a returning visitor from a new one. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.

Advertising

We may display ads from third-party networks, including Google AdSense, to keep this site free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
  • Third-party ad networks have their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Google's is available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Images on the blog

Blog articles may show stock photography hosted by Pexels. When such an image loads, your browser requests it directly from Pexels, which means Pexels can see that request in the same way any external image host would.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights and choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and every tool here will keep working — none of them require cookies to function. Because we do not run accounts and do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal information of yours for us to show, correct or erase. Changes to this policy

If we change how anything here works, we will update this page. Where a change is significant, we will make that clear rather than quietly edit the text.
