About the SERP Snippet Preview
The SERP Snippet Preview shows how your page is likely to appear in Google's search results as you type its title, URL and meta description. It renders a Google-style snippet — the breadcrumb URL, the blue title and the grey description — and updates instantly, so you can write for the result, not guess at it.
Length is what usually gets a snippet cut off, so the tool measures it for you: the title is checked in pixels (Google truncates around 600px, not a fixed character count) and the description by length (roughly 150–160 characters is the sweet spot). It flags a title that is too wide or a description that is too long or too short. Everything runs in your browser. Once the wording looks right, generate the actual tags with the meta tag generator.
Frequently asked questions
Why measure the title in pixels?
Google truncates titles by width, not a fixed number of characters, so a title of wide letters is cut sooner than one of narrow letters. Measuring pixels (around a 600px limit) is more accurate than counting characters.
How long should my meta description be?
Aim for roughly 150–160 characters. Much longer and Google truncates it; much shorter and you waste space that could sell the click.
Will Google show exactly this?
Not always. Google may rewrite titles and descriptions or show a date, sitelinks or rich results. This is a close preview of the standard snippet, not a guarantee.
Does it change my page?
No. It is a preview only. Use the meta tag generator to produce the tags, then add them to your page.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The preview is rendered entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
