About the HEIC to JPG
HEIC has been Apple’s default photo format since iOS 11 — it roughly halves the size of a JPG at similar quality, which is excellent on an iPhone and awkward everywhere else, since plenty of Windows software, older apps and upload forms still refuse it. This tool decodes your HEIC or HEIF files with Imagick and re-encodes them as JPG at quality 90, a level where the difference is genuinely hard to see.
Convert one photo or up to 30 at once; a single file comes back as a JPG and a batch as a ZIP. If your goal is smaller files rather than compatibility, compress image lets you set the quality yourself. To collect the converted photos into a document, JPG to PDF takes it from there.
Two things to state honestly. Metadata is stripped from the output — EXIF, the capture date and any GPS location are removed. That is a privacy win, but it means the JPG will not carry your camera settings or the date the photo was taken. And only the first frame is kept, so a Live Photo becomes a still image and the motion is discarded. Files are uploaded to our server, processed under random names in a folder blocked from web access, and deleted when the request ends. Each photo under 20 MB, 25 MB across the batch, 30 files maximum.
Frequently asked questions
Why will my HEIC photos not open on Windows?
HEIC needs a codec Windows does not ship by default, and many programs and websites never added support. Converting to JPG sidesteps the problem entirely.
Will I lose quality?
A little — JPG is lossy and the output is encoded at quality 90. In practice that is very hard to see, and you gain files that open anywhere.
Does the photo keep its date and GPS data?
No. All metadata is stripped during conversion, so EXIF, timestamps and location are removed from the JPG.
What happens to Live Photos?
Only the first frame is converted. You get a still JPG; the motion and audio are not carried over.
How many can I convert at once?
Up to 30 per batch, each under 20 MB and 25 MB in total. A single photo downloads as a JPG; several come back as a ZIP.
