About the HEIC to PNG
HEIC to PNG converts HEIC images to PNG. HEIC is the efficient format iPhones use by default — great quality at small sizes, but it will not open on many non-Apple apps. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics — at the cost of larger files.
This is the fix for iPhone HEIC photos that will not open on Windows or older apps — PNG opens everywhere and keeps full quality. The result is lossless, but converting cannot recover detail the source already discarded, and the file is usually larger. Your image is converted with Imagick on our server, then deleted straight after — stored under a random name in a non-public folder and removed when your download is served.
