About the JPG to BMP
JPG to BMP converts JPG images to BMP. JPG is the universal photo format — small files that open on every device, though it is lossy and sheds a little detail each time it is saved. BMP is an old, uncompressed Windows bitmap — perfect fidelity but very large files, rarely needed now.
Converting JPG to BMP gives you a plain, uncompressed bitmap that some older Windows software still expects. The result is lossless, but converting cannot recover detail the source already discarded, and the file is usually larger. Your image is converted with Imagick on our server, then deleted straight after — stored under a random name in a non-public folder and removed when your download is served. Convert one image or up to 30 in a batch (returned as a ZIP).
Frequently asked questions
Will converting JPG to BMP reduce quality?
The result is lossless, but converting cannot recover detail the source already discarded, and the file is usually larger.
Does it keep transparency?
No — BMP does not support transparency, so any transparent areas become solid white. Convert to PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes — add up to 30 and they come back together as a ZIP. Each is processed on our server and deleted right after.
Are my images kept?
No. They are stored under random names in a non-public folder and deleted the moment your download is served.
