About the X (Twitter) QR Code Generator

This is a plain URL QR code containing your profile address — https://x.com/<username>. Enter your handle without the @ and the link is built for you. Scanning opens your profile in the X app if it is installed, or in a browser if it is not. It is genuinely useful on conference slides, livestream overlays, name badges, business cards and posters, where reading a handle aloud or spelling it out reliably fails.

The code encodes x.com, the current domain. Old twitter.com links still redirect, but encoding the live domain avoids relying on a redirect that is outside anyone else’s control. That is the honest caveat with every social QR code: it depends on the platform continuing to support its profile URL format. If the format changed, printed codes would need reprinting — a static code cannot be edited afterwards. The same applies if you change your handle; the old one may later be claimed by someone else, so settle on it before printing.

Keep the code sparse by using a short handle, print it at a size suited to viewing distance (roughly 10:1 as a rule of thumb — a slide read from the back of a room needs a big code), and leave the blank quiet zone around it clear. Related: Telegram QR code generator and URL QR code generator.

Frequently asked questions

Do I include the @?

No — just the username. An @ is stripped automatically and the profile link is assembled for you.

Does it use x.com or twitter.com?

It encodes x.com, the current domain. Old twitter.com addresses still redirect, but encoding the live domain means the code does not depend on that redirect continuing to exist.

What if I change my handle later?

Printed codes will point at the old one and stop working. Released handles can be taken by someone else, so choose before you print anything permanent.

Will it open the app or a browser?

Whichever the phone prefers. With the X app installed, most phones hand the link to the app; without it, the profile opens in the browser.

Can I link a specific post rather than my profile?

This page builds a profile link from a username. For a single post, copy its full URL and use the URL QR code generator instead.
