About the Video Filter

Video Filter applies a colour effect to your whole clip — turn it black and white, give it a sepia or vintage warmth, cool it down, boost contrast or brightness, blur it, sharpen it, or invert the colours. All processing happens in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly), so your video is never uploaded — it is private and free with no watermark. It works best on short clips, since the work runs on your device rather than a server.

Applying a filter re-encodes the video, so it is best for short clips. Pick the look you want and download the result as an MP4.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded?

No. The filter is applied entirely in your browser; your clip stays on your device.

Which filters are available?

Grayscale (black and white), sepia, invert, brighten, more contrast, warm/vintage, cool tone, blur and sharpen.

Can I apply more than one filter?

One at a time. To stack effects, run the tool again on the result you just downloaded.

Why is it slower than trimming?

Applying a filter re-encodes the whole video, which is more work than a copy-only operation like trimming. Shorter clips process faster.
