About the Change Video Speed

Change Video Speed makes a clip play faster or slower — from 0.5× for a slow-motion feel up to 4× to fast-forward — and adjusts the audio pitch to match so it still sounds natural. All processing happens in your browser with ffmpeg (WebAssembly), so your video is never uploaded — it is private and free with no watermark. It works best on short clips, since the work runs on your device rather than a server.

Changing speed re-encodes the video, so it is best for short clips. Very high speeds drop the smoothness of the motion, since frames are being played more quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded?

No. The speed change runs entirely in your browser.

Does the audio stay in sync?

Yes. The audio is sped up or slowed to match the video and its tempo is adjusted so it still sounds natural.

Is this true slow motion?

It slows the existing frames down, which gives a slow-motion look. True slow motion needs a high-frame-rate original.

Why is it slow to process?

Changing speed re-encodes the whole clip on your device, so longer videos take more time.
