About the Extract Pages
Extract Pages builds a new PDF containing only the pages you name, leaving your original untouched. List single pages and ranges separated by commas — 1-3, 5, 9 gives you a five-page document. Duplicate entries are collapsed and numbers past the end of the file are ignored.
Use it when you need one chapter from a manual, a single invoice out of a statement run, or just the two pages of a contract someone actually asked for. Its mirror image is remove pages, which takes a list of pages to delete instead — pick whichever list is shorter to type. If you want several separate files rather than one, split PDF does that in a single pass.
An important honest detail: pages always come out in ascending order, whatever order you type them in. Entering 5, 1 produces page 1 then page 5, not 5 then 1, because the list is sorted before the file is built — so this cannot be used to reorder a document. The rebuild also keeps page content only; bookmarks, form fields, annotations and internal links are dropped. Encrypted PDFs cannot be read at all. Your file is uploaded, processed under a random name in a folder blocked from web access, and deleted when the request ends. One file, 20 MB maximum.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reorder pages by listing them out of order?
No. The page list is sorted ascending before the new PDF is built, so 5, 1 still produces 1 then 5. Reordering needs the pages extracted separately and then merged in the order you want.
How do I write the list?
Commas between entries and a hyphen for a range: 1-3, 5 keeps pages 1, 2, 3 and 5.
What is the difference from Remove Pages?
Extract keeps only the pages you list; Remove keeps everything except the pages you list. Same engine, opposite instruction.
Is my original changed?
No. A new PDF is built from the pages you chose, and your uploaded copy is deleted afterwards.
Do links and form fields survive?
No. Only the visible page content is carried into the new file — annotations, form fields and bookmarks are lost.
